Kaviya Thalaivan- How did Vasanatha Balan Raped an Epic Concept.

First When I saw the Movie Kaviya Thalaivan Trailer, I developed lot of expectation over the Movie. First of All it was a period film and that too about Dramas, second trust on Vasantha Balan- after Angadi Theru, AR Rehaman, Neerav Sha, and Prithivi.

After watching that movie, What I understood was,Vasantha Balan gave his Hard work and creativity in The Trailer Cut, but for the Movie , He was Lousy and Lazy on all the aspects.

If you expect as part of this blog I am going to tell the Story, Sorry that’s where the Problem is, This movie do not have a perfect Story Line, Okay A plot Line. It starts somewhere, Goes around on someone, suddenly the Director Realized he went to end the Movie and he finished it- Stress- “Finished the Movie”.

When The Movie Starts The Plot focusses on Drama Troop, Later when Prthivi jealous about his Drama Troop Co Artist Siddharth,The Plot shifts to Prthivi and Siddharth, when Suddenly Sidhrath Disappeared and they got a beautiful Plot of Tamil Dram Industry Growth, Hang, Now Vasantha balan not satisfied, He brings in Siddharth, Now Again Prthivi Vs Siddharth. Wait.. Wait….The Director want to talk about Drama’s Role in Freedom Fight, Again The Raise of Siddharth again Prithivi Comes in.. We got confused and Bored even the Director too, and He finishes the Movie as same as the Serials Finishes when it lost its TRP Rating. Suddenly Siddarth Dies, Prthivi realizes his mistake. All happen in 5 minutes as the Climax.

Vasantha Balan Don’t had Grip on his Script. No Plot, No Line Up. It seems He Confused on what he wants to Tell. To say This Film had lot of chances and missed extraordinary Movie Script(s) from the Concepts.As I saw I will list out the Opportunities,

1. Concept about Drama Troops:
A Movie about Tamil Dram Troops is a colorful Idea, Because Most of the Artists who were Trade mark of Tamil Film Industry were from Drama Troops. The Earlier Tamil Cinema’s too from Dramas Only. The Drama Troop Life itself tells thousand stories. Veteran Actors like MGR, NSK, MR Radha, Shivaji Ganesan, Karunanithi, Anna were all had a Drama Carrier. If the Movie Planned around the Dram Troop, it had various Tales.Vasanata Balana Missed it,or omitted it. The Scenes which Vasantha Balan has for a Drama Troop are effortless, horrible, and Unnatural.

2. Artist Conflict
When the Movie Shifts from the Troop to the Conflict of Prthivi and Siddhrath the Artists in the Troop, Where Prthivi is eagerly waiting for Rajpart Roll and Sidhrath gets it with his Innovativeness. New Script born there. But Vasanath Balan missed it or again In Confusion, He did not Took it up. The Psychological feelings over Prthivi’s Defeat itself a good Script. Okay Leave It.

3. The Raise of Tamil Drama n Overseas.
The Film now moves to another Area or historical Space. Prithivi take his Dram Troop to Overseas. A Tamil Drama Troop Raise in Overseas, with those different Audiences in worldwide without the Communication development of Cellphone and Web is an extraordinary Script to Present, Periodic, Overseas, Development and Fall of that Drama Industry.VB again Missed it

4. The Triangular Love Story
This Film talks about three peoples Love story, eventually all the Love stories has a painful and Failure end. Which is a good Concept thank god it exist in the movie, But due to Vasanatha Balan’s Confusion in Handling the Scripts kills this beautiful Love Parts.

5. Swadesi Movement and Drama
Later part of the Film talks about Swadesi Movement and the Drama’s roll. Okay Leave it, Vasanatha Balan missed that Line Too. Very Worst Dialogs. Worst Internal Drama Scrpits. Historically, Tamil Drama played a vital Role in Swadesi Movement. The Idea of Making it has a Film is good concept but Vasanatha Balan Research on that Field was lagging behind. Jeyamohan as a Dialog Writer stabbed Vasantha Balan. Both Failed to Create an Epic Movie though they had Epic Concept.

I think That AR Rahman was enthusiastic About the Idea, He gave extraordinary Songs. But When He saw the Movie He got upset It seems, He too Gave a Worthless Re-recording, Which Do not have any sense of Period and idea about Drama. No any sounds of Drama Music Instruments Sounds Heard through out the Movie.
Neerav Sha and Prithivi did their work better, Though Siddharth Puts his effort, He is not fitting for the Role, His Face, Body gives a look of 2000’s Chocolate boy look. Not a 30’s Drama Actor look. Sorry Siddarth it’s not your mistake.

Vasantha Balan Totally Wasted the Actors Nassar, Thambi Ramayya, Ponvannan, to say even Prthivi.
Drama had a vital role and Impact of Tamil Peoples and its Arts and Culture; It’s not about only Swadesi Movement the Drama Continued the Role in Dravidar Movement. The Fought of MR Radha in Presenting the Progressive thoughts in his Dramas Attracted the Attention of Both Progressive Peoples and Anti social Elements and the Mess created by those anti socials, the Way Mr Radha Tackled it, everything is a good Script to present to the Audiences in the Sense.

Totally VASANTHA BALAN Missed it. To say He Raped it too..

Film: Karthi’s Madras(film) Review – A gift to Indigenous Madras peoples for Madras 375

What is your expectation on “Madras” Movie?

The Director who gave a romantic comedy about the youth living in Suburban of Chennai, Pa Ranjith, Combined with Karthi whose current attempt to Comedy films failed. I had confusion about the genre, is it going to be Comedy or action.

Pa Ranjith Interviews and first look of the movie conveyed the message that the movie is going to be about North Chennai. My fear sky rocketed, Another Don Movie? After the worst experience of watching recent don movies like Thalaiva or Anjaan, What if it is another Don movie with all fake heroism with silly screenplay?

Pa Ranjith Saved, He choose to be different, really he chose different subject. I was very much depressed of portraying the suburban youth as mere comics in his film Atta Kathi. This time He elevated his carrier with nice Plot.

Kali (Karthi) who is living in North Chennai. He was active football player, and his dear friend Anbu was also active in local politics .The politics side triggers lot of fights over their area rivals. The Story is about acquiring the power, where the power was symbolized as a wall. In an attempt to challenge their rivals both Kalli and Anbu slips into life changing situation, the remaining story is about how they handle it?

The first songs have beautiful visuals about the daily life in north Chennai. They are the indigenous people to Chennai or madras, whereas playing key role in the cities development and thrown out from the city and seen as dirty.

We want thank Pa Ranjith who has some knowledge about politics took this story and presented as Blood and Flesh.

North Chennai is not only Fishing, smuggling, rivals, murder, Crowds, Murky,Housing boards, and Gana songs. It has millions of people who daily engage in development of this city and after squeezing their energy they have been spilled out by this city. They have Love, Life, Dreams, Hard work, and fun. In this film everything was recognized very well.

The Visual medium was well understood by the director. The accolades go to Cinematographer too. Often shown Long shot of the full area in day and night was capturing and making us to travel to north madras.

Santhosh Narayanan done his good job, Thanks the whole movie was not filled with only Gana songs. Enough space was given to music director. The Casting part was excellent except heroin. Karthi fitted well to the story. He underplays whenever needed and presents his acting skill in required shots. It’s an action movie to but the individual heroism was presented in a way it can be accepted and it was not irritating.

Other casts like the actor who played the Friend character Anbu, and Ritwika ( Paradesi fame), The supporting artsiest including villain role was excellent selection. The misjudgment happened while casting Heroin, Katherin Therasa done her role satisfyingly. Still her appearance was not matching the environment. Her duping voice was excellent choice but that was not suiting to her.

The Carelessness or “for-commercial” attitude continuing in Dialogs and costumes department. The dialogs were arbitrating between normal Tamil slang and North Chennai colloquial slang. It was relay disturbing us, When Location, Visuals taking us to North madras soil, The dialogs and costumes kept on reminding us that it was a movie that too a commercial movie.

We need to mention one character John who specifically delivers dialogs with raw Chennai flavor and impress audience with his acting. Though the screen play is lackluster, Director manipulated the audience with the cliché’s and giving twists that he used the cliché to cheat us which is dazzling work.

The director has a background of political working in a party. He adds some message encapsulates in a mass action commercial movie. I felt audience amazing in interval block and at the end of the movie and they are satisfied with what Pa Ranjith served to them. A perfect masala of Action, Music, Comedy. I am not sure that audience will get the Message encapsulated.

This movie is one more milestone in Karthi’s Carrier. First It will give him energy and can help him to forget his last two failures. Second, after Paruthiveeran, karthi was giving the same performance, in his earlier movies at least in one scene and utmost in the movies you can see Parutheeveeran modulation or style. In this movie Karthi wiped out the reoccurring Paruthiveeran style and delivered his landmark performance.

This movie was released in right time whereas The Movie crew gave a very good gift to indigenous Madras peoples on the occasion of Chennai 375 celebration.

Mangalyaan: Corruption Free India can launch 1000 Mangalyaans

We congratulate Our Scientist for successful insertion of Mangalyaan in to Mars orbit.
As an Indian It was really proud moment. It was really milestone in ISRO history. It again proves Indian Knowledge is competitive with global knowledge pool. It was very big and costly mission from ISRO, Total Costas for this project estimated 500 crores.

Again It also sparked debate about spending Tax money for hopeless proud. Their argument follows
1. Spending 500 Crores of Indian Tax money should be on developing India’s Infrastructure not on Useless space travel.
2. We do not have enough toilets and our major population is suffering from malnutrition.
3. India Agriculture is spoiling and this money should be turned to develop Indian agriculture.

Assessing India’s present situation I too agree this arguments, But Stop, Do you thing this mangalyaan Project 500 Corers is mere waste and will solve all the problems of India?

We must think wisely and logically before underestimating Mangalyaan project.
Comparing to the depot of money went to corrupted politicians pocket and to their Swiss account; Do you think This 500 Crore is a big amount?

I agree we need development in infrastructure but it doesn’t mean you need stop thinking about science developments and it doesn’t mean scientists need to wait until a countries’ problem to get fixed.

Let scientist do their job, But as a responsible citizen if we question about Corruption, If we take oath to eradicate corruption in Indian, with that money we can launch 100 Mangalyaan and we can fix infrastructure problems too.

Eradicating Corruption is to be center of Argument not criticizing and discouraging our scientist that they are wasting our Tax Money.

Aagadu- Telugu film- Mahesh Babu talks too much – Gabbar Singh Part 2

When Srinu vaitala, the blockbuster creator, announced his next movie going to be with Mahesh, the expectations heaped. They both gave an earlier blockbuster Dookudu, a perfect masala- mass movie with all twists and entertaining elements. Srinu is famous for his interesting screenplay with lot of interesting twists, punch dialogs and comedy.Sreenu’s Movie was supported with excellent music too.

We don’t want to introduce about Mahesh, already he was enjoying Mass Maharaja status and Super- star status in Telugu cinema. Lovely and impressed numerous woman fans. He got good career graph with Dookudu like hit action movies and other side impressing family audience with Flicks like SVSC.

Aagadu Prerelease revenue was 75 crore, broke the record of Pawan Kalyan’s Attarantiki Daredi movies satellite sale value.Aagadu sold for 10 crores whereas AD sold for 9 crores. Keeping all this facts and expectations in mind I watched the movie.

I really not worried about story, either the director and actor too. Who is going to worry about story in Masala-Mass movies? Everyone knows the story. Aagadu too follows the same story line. Sorry same plot, As same as other hit movies, yes this move got a very good screenplay. We need to appreciate the confidence of screenplay writer. Without any story line he penned 3 hours script.In this 3 hours Mahesh appear for 2 hours 59 minutes, other one minute we hear Mahesh voice.

Yes, I hope this movie will get a Guinness record of Hero talking continues three hours and broke the record of Pawan kalyan’s Gabbar singh. This movie is combo of Dookudu, Badsha, Gabbar Singh. Additionally we are hearing stories from Mahesh’s earlier movies too.

Actually, Mahesh, Talking for 3 hours, should bore us, ironically we start to enjoy. That’s plus for this movie. Sharp dialogues with all timing, parody of cinema, and television, impresses us more, Makes us relax, have smile, most of the times and loud laugh sometimes.

Only Pawan or Mahesh has the ability to hold audience though they talk too much. They are ready to over play and underplay when it is needed. Shots Cuts are excellent. No any boring shots.

When it comes to Heroin and Music a great disappointment. We cannot blame Mahesh, because in his earlier movie
Nenokadinu, he was actually underplayed giving all scope to heroin. The earlier flick SVSC Mahesh accepted and worked under title which is focused on Heroin. The blame goes to Screenplay.

Though, no one goes to question about story, But the Screenplay, which is inadequate.

Screenplay was regular; from the start of the movie we can expect the plot and climax. I agree scenes were interesting but not with enough twist, to say no twists at all, that too its movie of Sreenu vaitala and Krishna duos. Both are praised for the twisty screenplay, recall the movie Ready.

Bramaandam, Tanikala barani, MS Narayana, Sonu sood were done satisfactory. But, repeating cast.
I have heard initially Prakash raj was casted for villain, due to some controversy he dropped from the project, even Prakash raj in this story is again going to be repeated and absolutely he won’t bring any freshness in the presentations.

One new addition was item number. It was done by Sruthi Hassan, for 75 lacks- appearing in one song. And, we may start enjoy tidbits about the heroines going to play item number in forth coming movies and their huge remuneration.

Mahesh- Sreenu we still expect more from you.

Food, not only give required energy to us but it conveys lots of love and message. Food’s Taste is not only because of the ingredients but the right rhythm adding the required ingredients with right timing.Not Enough, Not enough. It should be cooked with lots of love and passion.

This formula applies to any creativity, Star value, extravagant budget, too much of marketing make peoples to know about a cinema. But the cinema will be close to our heart when it was served with love and passion. We can feel the love and passion of Favreao, the iron man director, created the movie Chef.

Chef, The movie is all about a Passionate and skillful chef, with a broken family and lovable Son, Fighting to get back his career and life. He improves his career with the help of Social Media and internet ironically, those made him to spoil his career earlier.

Chef Carl (Favreao) was working in high profile hotel in LA.Famous Food critic Ramsey (Oliver Platt) gives bad review about Carl Cooking, in his blog. With anger Carl uses twitter to open fight (unknowing about his tweets goes to public) with Ramsey and their fights goes viral.

Carl losses his job because of his rival with Ramsey, on the other side he becomes popular in internet. With help of his Divorced wife and her ex-husband, Carl opens a new truck restaurant. His Pasion in food making helping him to master the Cuban foods, which become hit.

While travelling he develops close relation with his son who helps to viral Carl Food truck in social media. Carl gets back his career and family but with help of his Cooking.

Cooking Food teaches us lot; it’s the greatest meditation for us. Cooking teaches us how to react, how to behave, we need to master in handling ingredients. This is similar to our life if we know to handle peoples we can cook an excellent, sweet life.

There was lot of food centric movies, Ratatouille, Big Food, Juli & Julia. The good thing about the movie Chef is the directorial touch. It was one of the extraordinary “Feel-Good” movies I watched in recent times.
It’s a low budget Indie movie. With nice music. The songs choose were amazing. This movie holds us. That’s the success of this movie. The flow was smooth. The close up shots, cuts and editing of cooking are mouthwatering.

It’s the good anti-depressant I suggest to peoples who are depressed.

Vijay TV –When will be “Namma Veettu First Night” Disgusting TRP TRICKERIES?

How many of you, Viewers of Vijay TV, observed Neeya Naana Gopi removed his earphone in recent shows? In Tamil TV industry when all the TV channels started to focus on Mega serials, after few hits in Sun TV, Came Vijay TV with really refreshing Programs.

Vijay TV earlier was owned by Vijay Mallaya (the kingfisher calendar guy) later when Star TV want to extend its media Network in India They acquired major shares in Vijay TV. Then Vijay TV becomes Star-Vijay.

Star network was owned by billionaire Murdoch, Very controversial man. He was the media man who killed media ethics and ran media business for profit. It made him really a billionaire. He started to expand as same as poison-gas spreading in air. His principle is focused on attention grabbing and Sensation.

Recently his British Newspaper “The Sun” was in controversy of secretly placing Microphones and spied celebrities and Royal family. Murdoch and his Media Company are the prime accused in that case.
With all this Sensation and profit, keeping it as its mission Star network entered in India. This bit mainly focuses on Star-Vijay not on the whole network.

Murdoch inspired Sun TV Network Owner Kalanithi Maran. Maran in his Initial days insisted his TV Peoples to Copy ideas from Star Network TV Channels and conducted Programs. It was really hit in Tamil Nadu. Later, when star landed in Tamil Media Network. Sun TV need to Lose its innovative (previously copied from Star) ideas. Star Vijay Started to become the number One.

First Star-Vijay Started the Reality shows; actually it was new to Tamil. Earlier Sun TV did few reality shows for singing and dancing. Star Vijay Created various reality shows. For audience it appeared natural like Candid but, behind the scenes everything was scripted.

Star Network funds various marketing, Management and psychological research about TV audience and they use it for their Media sensation. Those concepts later will be applied in Shooting. Main Aim is Sensation. Technician will be trained to think in way to present any program with sensation. One sample was well scripted Simbu-Prithiviraj fight in Jodi No1 Season 1 and Simran- Vijay Adithraj fight in a depavali special program were Simran was the chief guest.

These two incidents created anticipated sensation between audiences. Vijay TV, Paid print media to exaggerate these issues. Most of the weekly’s came up with their own stories. Indian (Audience here Tamil audience) like every TV audience, who are interested in Celebrity Gossips enjoyed this sensation. Before these incidents, they have only heard about celebrity fights in Gossips Columns on Print Media, when they watched celebrity fighting as blood and flesh, they were surprised and thrilled. This psychology was well understood and manipulated by Vijay TV later it is repeated again and again.

Though People think TV is an Idiot Box I have different opinion that TV can be used as a good media to learn, understand and teach. Star-vijay used the same mass media for just sensation and manipulation. PROFIT become key word, for profit they need TRP, For TRP they need sensation, for sensation they need to manipulate audience Feelings. For manipulation they crossed all the limits and so called ethics.

Take the Programmer Super Singer Junior. It introduced various talented singers to us. I agree. But in the cost of killing children ethics and etiquettes. Audience forced to watch dramas, Cries, makeups, anchor’s gibberish which influences the contestant minds conditioned to falsehood as well as affects the mind of viewers as well but all is just a drama which is like flies attract to candle flames.
The Vijay Super singer eradicates the art form of singing and music. Singing was conveyed as competition. Winning become soul, and art is for sale. 7 year kid was singing “nethu rathri amma”, Camera panned to kid’s parents, where they were tensed about their kid’s performance and prize. Judges twisted their lips and gave comments that kid did not express enough feeling for that song. Nethu rathri amma a midnight masala song with all of lust, I still can’t understand, it’s like forcing the young sinless soul to fall into wells of Lust just to win.

One day one boy’s mother was carried in stretcher everyone was crying. Slow motion visuals of crying faces and tears filled the TV Screens. Audience took their cell phones to send message ads vote to that boy. Each SMS cost 6 Rupees. I have saw wall posters of kids begging to vote for him. Disgusting and furious.it more like asking for votes for sorrow rather than talent.

Anchor Jagan came up with double meaning rotten jokes, they didn’t mind ethics.in Connexions program Jagan crossed all cultural limits, his comments for sample “ enna di virichittu vandutta”, “nee paapava, oh papa potta thappava”.Sigh, annoying, covetousness.

All the reality shows came up with these feeling episodes, fighting episodes, Kids over acting or over reacting. Worst of worst which hurt me is makeups.

Divyadarshini shortly DD was an enthusiastic, energetic, skilled anchor with all good timing and situation manger. I was fan for her anchoring earlier days. Note down earlier days. I still can’t understand what went wrong; she started to behave over reactive with all blabbering, worst jokes with bad timing. Later it becomes DD’s trademark. Once they got this myth of this stupidity increasing TRP then the stupid thing was produced 100 times bigger. Why DD is Over reacting, She is like 100 times Jothika.

Neeya Naana one of my favorite shows gave space to various activists and literary peoples. Most of the time carried very good debate. From day one I know Gobi has nothing to do with it, except showing his face and behind the scene Antony was doing everything with a good intellectual team. Something happened, Drama introduced, script started to play, sensation become keyword. The whole debates now a scripted drama. Still I have respect on Antony and his team where they can back to track. May be Gobi was using its popularity to get good gifts and payments. We cannot criticize Gobi for that. Though we know Kannadasan or Vairamuthu writing the songs, we still call it has MGR song or Rajini song. It is our mistake for giving value to face, skin and color .it like soap opera rather than an intellectual debate.

Now this crying epidemic continuing in all Vijay TV shows, singer cry, dancers cry, Serials cry, Anchors Cry, in award function Siva Karthegeyan cries, even in Comedy show someone cries. Loads of Glycerin increasing TRP and our BP too. Entertainment labeled programs like coffee with DD or Vijay awards function is like Zee Tv Solvathellam Unmai.

Vijay Awards is the latest comedy. No matter what like temple Prasadam they are giving awards to everyone who attends. I am sure next year who ever goes to the award function can carry an award like best viewer, best clapper, and best whistler awards. They will have Sivakarthegayan and Santhanam no matter what. They will have Kamal, Vijay no matter what. If they want anyone to come to their show they will award. Sharuk khan was the latest. Here I respect and salute one star, Ajith no matter what he is not bothering or attending this function. I hope he will continue this attitude.

What is their aim, point? Money. For money are they ready to do anything and destroy all ethics and culture. What is the use?

I still doubt in future for sensation and TRP rating they will telecast first nights because already kalyanam was a TRP hit show. Or I am worried if it will be reality show and they are going to have judges?

Shankar’s I audio Release- Arnold Taught Lesson about Punctuality

Yes, that’s true Arnold Left I audio function Soon. We can’t See Arnold in I audio release Photos. Rajinikanth released the CD to Puneeth raj kumar. Surprisingly Arnold was missing from the scene.

Yesterday I wrote a blog post about “What Arnold going to do with I?”, after reading that post one of my friend who is in movie industry called and explained about that exactly happened in Audio function. He agreed with my Post that Arnold not having any connection with the movie except the film loosely bound on Body building and man’s Beauty. He also added that Arnold did a wonderful job of teaching us about Punctuality.

Last time when Jackie Chan was invited a s chief guest for aascar Ravichandran’s, The producer of Dasavatharam and I, Jackie thought us about simplicity and courtesy. But In I audio release Arnold took chance to teach us about time and punctuality.

When Arnold was invited to I function He planned very well his first India trip. After small jetlag, Morning He visited tamilnadu CM, later he gave appointments to few artists and fans. After function He planned to take rest and Leave to Delhi. There he had other trip plans.

So the schedule given to Arnold about the function was 3.30 Pm to 8.30 PM. As per plan he will be staying there until end of the function. But something messed up, The function was not started as per the plan. It got delayed until 7.00 Pm.

Arnold was asked to wait until the function start. He was ready at 2.30 Pm and simply waiting. Waiting.. Waiting long. Rajini and Kaml to informed previously about the delay. Unfortunately Kamal was having Stomac upset due to food poising at last minute he informed that he can’t participate.

Vikram was asked to do special makeup which will take long the worst part is to clear the make-up at least it will take 2 hours. Due to the delay n start, Vikram can’t able to Clear his make-up and due that he was absent in the release photo.

Arnold entered around 7.30 Pm but he was strict with his plans, He got irritated about the Delay. Arnold expressed his concern to the I Producers about the delay and He excused from Staying long. As per his schedule he got ready at 2.30 Pm and attended the function and left at 8.30 PM. Unfortunately Audio was released at 9.30 Pm.

When Arnold was requested to talk immediately, Even Bobby Simha does not know that He is going to leave soon. Simaha requested Arnold to Talk about Movie Later, But Arnold Replied that He only will decide when to talk and what to talk. It may sound arrogant but on the other hand it’s the words of the man a simple farmer from Austria came to Hollywood and become an action star. It’s his confidence and winning formula.Punchulity and inviduality is the secret of Arnold’s Success. Right?

They spent Corers to conduct this function still it was mystery why the delay is caused. We need to wait to hear the I Producer side story about the delay; do they have any meaningful reason for the delay?

“I” Movie Audio Release- Scar-crow Arnold, Disappointing songs, and Annoying Hype

On Sep 15, in Chennai, whatever happened in the name of marketing, audio release, or grand celebration of Shankar’s movie “I” was unacceptable and irksome fuss.

Latest technology development puts more pressure to movie industry. Audience’s opinions, reviews critics and spoilers are shared through SMS or as social media status very quickly. This is real challenge to film marketing peoples.

This challenge can be handled in two ways, one, what I can call it as genuine and progressive way, through presenting the movie with all possible technical aspects, and screwing the screenplay. This will bring new technologies to the market and new techniques to present a movie. A progressive leap for movie industry. The other way is cheating or crook’s way was fake hypes or created with help of gimmicks and with lot of wrong promises a product is sold.

In both ways, their primary goal is to make money as soon as possible than the reviews about the movie spread. We are witnessing both things happening now either in Hollywood or kollywood (Tamil movie industry).

We take movies like Avatar, Tin-Tin , Jigirthanda   or  Mudasupatti.This films too marketed well, used proper media and social media techniqs.But their true victory lies in their content and presentations. The plots of those movies are known, old, and predictable. But the script was skewed, crafted well. The presentation was awesome with good music, CG, acting etc..

But, the movie I took the other way. It was using gimmicks.

What does Arnold do with this film? They paid him 10 crores to just visit and stay in stage for few minutes. He too read whatever the script handed to him.  Ironically, I producer kept arrears to the lower wage technicians and they are in strike. This actually made to stop shooting one song. Yes one song was pending now. Shankar too agreed it. For that song they even constructed a 2 crore set and it was left unused.

The teaser and songs are most disappointing. But that half-baked product was marketed as one of legendry movie and the creator are legends. I am really sorry I have respect on Shankar about his earlier movies and the movies he produced. I have respect on A R Rahaman on his heart touching Hindustani and mind blowing western music. Movies like Kadal, Marian and I songs are bit same. I can’t find difference in music.

Yesterday facebook and youtube was struck with all this I Stuff. Awkward really.

Arnold walking; Arnold entering; Arnold in gym; Arnold in toilet. Most annoying trivia is  Vikram did that Vikram did this. Stop what the great thing Vikram did? Did he increased his body weight, shaped to six packs, and reduced his weight! What it’s all going to do with a good cinema?

In the movie Philadelphia and Tom hanks’ acted as a HIV patient he reduced his weight which is meaning full, What is the use of tuning your body for masala flicks, CG is more than enough ?

Why this trivia’s are most interesting to movie goers. I am not anti-masala cinema or I am too much supporter of art-house cinemas. I am against to hypes, and gimmicks.

A good movie don’t need this stuffs, but our so called movie-creators-drug-business was using all possible technology, and their money for buying all kind stupid things around the world? What money can’t buy?

They may have Shakira for item song, Messi for audio release. We admire it and will popularize those idiotic activities in the name of fan. You are not only killing art, but the very good audience and their minds.

Film: The Axe – Kill your competitors to get a JOB

I know Costa Gavras is one of the famous Political Film Director. In Costa’s 4o years of Film Carrier, he has just directed 19 films. All the films are controversial, critically acclaimed, participated in various film festivals, won awards, and triggered sound debates.

When I was buying DVDs in a shop, I came across Costa’s movie. Costa is my all-time favorite director. I don’t want to miss any of his movies, so it’s very obvious that his film “The Axe” ended up in my cart.

The description of the movie was stating it has a nerve-racking action thriller about a serial killer.

It was fascinating for me. I thought that Costa did an experiment on switching from political films to commercial action-thriller, but it can’t be, He got amazing opportunities in Hollywood, but he never left his political agenda, so suddenly I can’t see any reason for him to run behind cheap commercials.

Now the movie The Axe and its description increased expections.I started to think about other possibilities. Did he take a movie to explain the political side of serial killing? If yes, what is the politics?

I have habit of browsing in the Wikipedia and reading the plots about movies, before watching it.Thanks to Wikipedia, the article about this film is stub.

The Movie is about Bruno, an Executive in Paper Industry. Bruno loses his job due to outsourcing and downsizing. Initially He thinks that he will get another job easily because of his experience. Globalization shows its dark face.

Rarely does he get call for job, where he wants to compete with at least 6 or 7 eminent competitors of his profile. Very less job opening (or not at all) and big competition. Bruno’s Aim is to get placed at Arcadia, the biggest paper production company in France. But Arcadia was having excellent executive.

To get a job, Bruno sketches a bloodiest plan. First, killing Arcadia executive to create job vacancy for him. Next, killing all his competitors for interview, who were skilled and experienced than Bruno? He justifies himself with his family’s financial struggle. This is the only way to get his job.

Costa adopted this movie from Donald Westland’s Novel “the Axe”. It was perfect film to criticize current political and economic situations.

Now Peoples loosing job because of globalization and the jobs are outsourced. Downsizing of companies is a normal word. No Social welfare, Social state was a joke now. Peoples forced to earn money to live. The Other side of competition is eliminating.

This theme was not new. Chaplin’s Monsieur Verdox, in which Chaplin acted as a murderer, was dealt the same plot. Chaplin acted as a serial killer in that movie; He kills wealthy widows to run his family.

Bruno’s Murder was not justified, instead was well criticized. When thousands of people fighting against this economic situation were very few turns to be murderers. But the climax of this film clearly states that they cannot allow staying in their new status which they got from bloodshed.

I am always wondered how Costa chooses his subjects. He was master in portraying high, complex, social situations and its politics in his cinema. It requests lot of skill, he want to master him politics, society and cinema. It also requires lot of reading and research.

Now we can understand why only 19 movies in 4o years.I salute this master.
